Welcome to Mini Midwest Momma

For years I have had dreamt of starting a blog based on petite fashion and all things family, including raising children and striving to keep our marriage strong. COVID hit and I finally bought the domain for my name, Abbi Strader. I am super not tech savvy so after playing around with different website builders, I let the project lie.

Then I showed up to my salon and BAM: Mini Midwest Momma was born. The salon is where all great things happen, am I right?!

So, I’m Abbi. Justin and I are high school sweethearts. We tied the knot in 2008. We started our family in Danville, Illinois before moving to Bloomington, Illinois in 2011. We have called BloNo home ever since. Justin and I brought two sweet kiddos into the world in 2009 and 2012. They are our reason for putting good into the world. Our family ventured into foster care in 2018. We have accepted two separate placements, both of which have moved on and will forever live in our hearts and physical lives as long as they’ll have us.

Justin and I moved our family to the south end of town in 2019. We have always kept our eyes open to a “bigger lot.” After many interesting searches with our beloved realtor, Monica, we found our home.

Now, we are getting through this silly pandemic as many of you are! We are both back to work, in new and different ways. Our kiddos are enrolled in school in new and different means. I am also getting my master’s degree in social work. Crazy!
